Dream Future

My dream job is to be a pediatrician. In case you don’t know what a pediatrician is, it is a doctor who specializes in the care of children and young adults. My dream job is to be a pediatrician for so many reasons and here are a few examples! The first one is I LOVE kids. I find them so fun to be around and being a pediatrician would give me just that plus I would get paid for just being around them! My second reason is that one of my favorite things to do is help people. Me having this job would mean that I get to help people under the age of 18 every single day for who knows what! It could be a sickness, it could be a constant pain of some sort, it could be something that I have never even heard of, but as long as I get to help them, they could come to me. My final reason is getting help from my closest friends and family. The reason that I would be able to get help from my friends and family is because lots of them are all some sort of nurse/doctor. My grandma for example is a mother baby nurse. A mother baby nurse is a nurse that takes care of the baby right after it’s born. They clean the baby, put it in a swaddle, etc. My aunt is a school nurse so she deals with kids and their injuries all the time. With the help of them I could get so far in the pediatric world, which is why I would want to be a pediatrician.

Rad Reading-February

This month I read If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin. This story was about two kids that grew up together named Autumn, and Finny. At first their relationship seems like a close friendship with an inseparable bond between one another but as they grow up, they start to feel like their relationship has gotten too close to the point that they may be in love. It’s their first year of high school and for some reason they won’t hang out anymore. They both claim to have just grown apart but deep down inside they both know it’s more than that, they just can’t put a finger on it. Autumn has a boyfriend named Jamie and Finny has a girlfriend named Sylvie. Throughout Autumns relationship with Jamie, she loves him but it feels like it’s more of a temporary romance. She has always loved Finny and that love will stick with her always and forever. I liked this book because I got to see so many different events and situations going on all at once. I loved to be able to see the story from so many different perspectives such as Finny, Autumn, Brooke, etc! My favorite character from the story was Finny. He was favorite character because he always was there for anybody that needed him most. For example when Autumn would get picked on he would always be there for her to stand up for her but do it in a respectful way by not starting problems with his piers. My favorite quote from Finny is “ I’m sorry. Im sorry for ever hurting you.” Pg. 363. This is my favorite quote because it shows me how much Finny cares for Autumn and wants to make sure she will always be ok.

Secret Shoplifting

I am invisible. Here’s the story behind it… It was an ordinary day when I woke up I felt a bit weird so I walked into the kitchen where my mom was cooking breakfast to see if I felt warm or looked sick but she wouldn’t answer me! I ask her “mom, mom, mom! Can you hear me? Why aren’t you answering me?!” She still didn’t answer me so I went to my dad. Just like my mom he wouldn’t answer me so I thought maybe I would check myself in the mirror but guess what! I was invisible! I couldn’t believe it because just last night I had a dream about me being invisible and I went to the mall and broke some rules by shoplifting in all of the stores of my choice. Anything I touched turned invisible with me so I didn’t have to worry about people stealing my floating clothes from me! That would be second hand steeling! I thought if this happened in a dream and it’s all happening in real life right now then why not try to make the whole dream come to life! I drive down to the Irvine spectrum and hit all of my favorite spots! By the time I was done I came back home with about $2,000 worth of stuff but I paid ZERO BUCKAROOS! I went to bed and woke up like it was a normal day, here and visible. It was fun while it lasted but now I have to go back to being a normal human being and living a normal life. That was what I would do in a day of invisibility!

Abandoned Shopping

I live on an abandoned island. It was the 13 of July and me and my best friend Ella were shopping at the Irvine Spectrum. We see that there was a new store put in so we decide to check it out! It starts off a bit weird because the door was solid white and had no words or nothing on it! It sort of intrigues us so we slowly with hesitation walk in. We step through the door and fall through a trap door than just like in Jumanji we fall from the sky and land on this abandoned island!!!! We are so confused and have no idea how we got here or how to get home so we make the best of it and explore. At first all that was in my sight was a huge ocean that looked never ending and a BUNCH of trees and bushes so we walk into the jungle like area and see in front of our eyes a humongous mall! We don’t even have to think about it and decide to go in! There isn’t a single person or employee in the building and we look up at the fifty foot ceiling, the stairs that wrap around the circular building like a castle, and all of the clear windows that hold the structure together. The whole building is so modern and incredibly futuristic. As we look around in aw Ella sees a sign that says “you are the first to come to our island. Please have fun and enjoy the time that you have to have a free shopping spree!” We look at eachother with a devious smile and sprint to our favorite stores too have the time of our lives!

Free Falling

I would like to go skydiving! The thought of falling from the sky then gracefully landing with a parachute on an open area that goes on for miles sounds incredible! My mom went skydiving once and she said she hated it because it was too frightening and the possibilities of getting hurt were endless but I think she only hated it because she is afraid of anything high like high seats in a stadium, high roller coasters, tall buildings, even more! This list could go on for miles… Anyways my grandpa was in the marine core and he did the jumping from a plane into the ocean. He said he loved it a lot and we have a LOT in common so I think I would like it too!!! My favorite part of the movie Jumanji is when the characters die and then fall from the sky. The way they land is so cool so I think I could land like that too! Except for when Jack Black lands… It’s not so graceful as the other ones. I love the movie Jumanji so much because you get to see the world and experience everything in another persons shoes. Imagine being sent into a video game where your real life was on the line! You have three lives, you don’t get to come home until you reach Jumanji. If you run out of lives. YOUR DEAD. I know pretty intense right. Thank you for reading about why I love Jumanji and why I love the movie Jumanji, why I would want to go to Jumanji, and be a character in the movie and skydiving!

Rad Reading- January

This month I read We’ll Always Have Summer” by Jenny Han. This story was about A teenage girl named Belly and her whole life she has been in love with the Fishers. Susanna was like a second mother to her, Conrad was her first love, and Jeremiah was her first real boyfriend. Now, after two years, Jeremiah gets down on one knee and offers belly what she has always wanted… to be Belly Fisher. As Jeremiah and Belly head back to Cousins Beach to plan their wedding, Conrad comes home to tell Belly he made a mistake when he broke her heart. Now Belly must confront her feelings for Jeremiah and Conrad and face a truth she has possibly always known. She will have to break one of their hearts but who will it be? I enjoyed the book so much because it always kept me on the edge of my seat. You never knew what was going to happen next because one second Belly was in love with Jeremiah then the next she catches feelings again for Conrad. All the characters in the story were so unpredictable and it really made the book fun and exciting but also, romantic and moody. My favorite character in the story was Jeremiah. He was my favorite because he always wanted there to be no tension and always so considerate. My favorite trait that describes him is caring! I think he was my favorite because we have similar ideas in life. We always want everything to be exciting and a fun adventure but wants everyone around us to feel cared for and wanted. An example of him being caring is when he says “What kind of flowers do you want for the wedding?” (pg. 101) This quote stood out to me because it showed me how much Jeremiah wanted this wedding to be special for Belly. Sometimes all a girl needs to feel special is to be able to pick out something so small like flowers in a wedding! My favorite quote from the story is from Conrad. It says “ when Conrad Fisher told a girl, he loved her, he meant it.” This quote felt meaningful because not often do you come across a guy that won’t say things just so you will like him. Conrad only says things that he means when he means it and not for any other reason at any other time.

So Says Dumbledore

The quote that I am choosing from Dumbledore is “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.” This quote means that you can always find happiness even if you feel like you can’t but the only way to find it is to have hope in finding it. I have experienced this when I was incredibly sad, emotional, and thought that one of my goals of getting a dog before August wouldn’t happen. Every time I tried to have a serious conversation with my dad about getting a dog he would just shoot me down right away every single time. Then I saw the light in the situation and thought one day I will 100% get a dog even if it means next month or next year. I tried my best to understand my dad’s reasoning and once he saw that I was excepting his rules he trusted me and my family with a dog and we did get one before August! Thanks for reading my blog and I will see you next time on Charlottes Key to the World.

Mamacita

My hero is my mom. My mom is my hero because she does so many different jobs and I find it jaw dropping. Here is all her jobs! She owns and works at a laundromat, she does dishes all day for four people, she is a housekeeper, babysitter for two children, takes care of a crazy dog that acts like she drank fifty cups of coffee, she helps out her better half with all of his work, is a personal taxi driver for all of the children she knows, is a personal tutor for the children that she lives with, and she gets all this done every single day as a stay at home mom. I could only dream to be as persistent, persevering, and as strong as she is because what she does in a day would take me a week! My mom is and always will be there for me, and no matter what, will help out in any, and I mean ANY way she possibly can. It could be from helping clean up a mess that she wasn’t even apart of, or making her kids lunches and preparing their backpacks for school the next morning. These are only a few of the reasons why I deeply admire my mom.

Word of Reason

My word of intention for 2024 is persistence. There many reasons for why I am going to focus on this year. I am going to stay persistent with daily routines. Doing this will make me feel accomplished and ready to strive my best and work my hardest. Another thing I would like to stay persistent with is downtime from electronics. I know that sometimes I will try to set a limit for myself on my phone but get carried away and stay on for too long. For me to do this I will set a screen time limit for myself on all of the apps that I feel I use most. It will lock the app completely so I can’t even access it. For me it will be a sign that I need to get up and get active! I would like to stay persistent with putting myself first more. I am very used to putting everyone I know first and I am not focusing enough on taking care of myself and asking myself, “Do I feel like I have put time into myself and do I feel ready for what is coming?” This is why I would choose persistence for my word of 2024 and I hope to see you next time on Charlottes Key too the World!

Rad Reading-December

This month I read Its not Summer Without You by Jenny Han. This book was about Belly Conklin and Jeremiah Fisher trying to bring Conrad Fisher (Jeremiahs brother) home because he has college finals and he was going to miss them. He was at the summer house but little did Belly and Jeremiah know, Conrad was trying to get the summer house back. Mr. Fisher which is Conrad and Jeremiahs dad, was trying to sell the house because he thought it was no good having it, if Susannah was gone. They all go through ups and downs together. Belly has always dreamed of marrying Conrad but who knows. She may get caught in between both of the Fisher boys and to her, make the biggest decision of her life. Will it be Conrad, or Jeremiah? I loved this book so much because the way Jenny Han used very descriptive words made me feel like I was a main character in the book. I believed that I was there in the moment, interacting with the characters and been there with them throughout the novel. My favorite character in the story was Jeremiah. He was my favorite because he always wanted there to be no tension and always so considerate. My favorite trait that describes him is optimistic! I think he was my favorite because we have similar ideas in life. We always want everything to be exciting and a fun adventure. An example of him being optimistic is when he says “Maybe part of me needed that, someone to look up to.”(pg. 168) He was very optimistic here because all he could think about was how he was always the underdog compared to his older brother Conrad. But when life gave him lemons he made lemonade! My favorite quote from the novel was from Jeremiah and he said this. “Maybe part of me needed that, someone to look up to.”(pg. 168). This was my favorite quote because it made me realize that there will always be a bright side but you just have to find it. It will always come to you eventually.
