Rad Reading – October

This month I read The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han. Each summer Belly, her brother Steven, and her mom Laurel go up to cousins beach and stay at Laurels best friend Susannahs beach house! She has two sons Conrad and Jeremiah. Belly has always has a crush on Conrad but this summer she sees something in Jeremiah that she has never seen before. This beach house is her home away from home and all of her favorite people are there at that house. Despite her many distractions from a new guy that she met in the third grade named Cam and all of these lingering looks from Conrad’s brother Jeremiah Belly’s heart has always belonged to Conrad. I enjoyed this book because it gave me so many perspectives of different people. Belly is a sensitive girl that wants to prove that she has matured and Conrad is a shy boy that doesn’t share or show his emotions for any reason no matter the severity. My favorite character is Susannah because she shows affection for everyone she sees even if she doesn’t know who they are and cares strongly for the people she loves. My favorite quote from this story is “You’re the only boy I’ve ever thought about.” (Pg. 243) This was my favorite quote because even though throughout the story Belly has said that she was over Conrad and liked Jeremiah and Cam deep down inside she has always and will always have feeling for Conrad Fisher.

A Life in Different Shoes

If I could trade places with a famous person for the day it would be Selena Gomez. I would pick to trade places with her for a day because she is a very successful person with her own beauty line and a singer/songwriter. Putting myself in her shoes would make me feel proud and impressed by my work. I have one job but not only just a job, I’m a famous pop star who makes a LOT of money for doing what I love but then I take on another job because why not and I create my own beauty line! During this day I would head down to Sephora to see how my beauty line was doing and to see what I need to work on or what I need to make more of. Then I would go home in my limousine and get ready to go to the beach! I love the beach and it would give me a real sense of being famous because I bet I would run into many of my wonderful fans! We would first lay out in the sun to start tanning, then we would hop into the water and go boogie board! We would boogie board for a while then go tan some more. After I’m fully dry and tan I would head home. After I got home from the beach I would shower then put on some comfy sweats and go to the drive through Chick-Fil-A and grab myself some chicken nuggets and fries! Finally I would get on the couch and watch The Summer I Turned Pretty while eating my Chick-Fil-A. Thank you so much for reading about my day in Selena Gomez shoes and I will see you next time on Charlottes Key to the World.

Terrific Tuesday!

My perfect day would be me winning the lottery then spending it at the mall on a Tuesday! I would pick my perfect day to be on a Tuesday because Tuesdays are the only days that I have nothing to do and I love school. At my school on Wednesdays we have late start so we start an hour later than we usually start which means I would get to sleep in and go to school the next morning so I wouldn’t have to go to sleep at an earlier time then my heart desires. First we would go to Starbucks for breakfast and I would get a strawberry açaí refresher and a bacon egg and Gouda sandwich! Then we would go check and see if I won the lottery because it doesn’t hurt to check and… wahooooooo everyone is screaming because I won 3 billion buckaroos and I was thrilled! The first thing I want to do is go deposit all of the money but $10,000 dollars of it into the bank then I would take that $10,000 and go to the mall with my best friend Ella. After we spend a good chunk of that money we would go to Chick-Fil-A and get chicken nuggets, french fires, and an Oreo milkshake! We would spend time going through all of my stuff I bought at the mall which would take about three hours, then I would hit the hay! Thank you so much for reading my blog and I hope to see you next time on Charlottes Key to the World!

Twenty-Three Forever

If I could be an age for the rest of my life I would love to be twenty-three years old forever. I would love to be twenty-three years old forever because at this age you are independent and free to do things more adventurous and exciting than you could at 3 years old. At twenty-three you athletic, flexible, and young. You are an adult and have the privilege to do things that lots of people can’t do. I have always wanted to be able to drive and at twenty-three you can. When I was younger I always dreamed of being able to say I’m in my early twenties. To me when I said that I felt so mature, so old, so cool. My mom always said that I was so mature that I acted like more of the mom role in the family. When I was younger I would get my own mini shopping cart to the store and go down farther in the isles to pretend that I was an adult shopping for my own stuff. I hope you loved reading about why I would love to be twenty-three forever. See you next time on Charlottes Key to the World!

Screen Catastrophe

In this story you are going to learn about a bunch of crazy kids that are with each other way to much and if you are with them, you should prepare yourself for what you are getting yourself into. (Read at your own risk…) A long long time ago (about three years ago) me, my sister Juliette, and 3 of my cousins Bridger, Dax, and Peyton were playing tag. We decide who’s it by playing a very intense rock paper scissors tournament. My sister gets chosen to be it but she throws a tantrum about how she shouldn’t be it because she is the youngest and doesn’t deserve this punishment. We bring her to my mom and they have a long talk about who knows what but in the meantime the rest of us sat on a blanket in the living room while we ate our goldfish and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. My sister comes back and says “I’m ready to be it for tag.” We all jump up in a chipper way and prepare to play. (That was not a planned rhyme.) Juliette counts down from five and we all run away as far as we can. She bolts toward me and I run as fast as I can but little did Dax know, she was going for him. She runs as fast as she can to try to catch me but then she turns and gets Dax who was right around the corner. Dax glances over the room to see who was near as if he was an eagle then he spots Bridger who was playing the role of prey. Bridger yells as he sprints down the hallway “AHHHHHHHHH.” He chases me and I run as fast as I can! (By the way in this moment I was focused on getting away from Bridger not anything else.) That’s when it happened. I ran through the screen to outside. I was on the patio with the screen on me and the door three feet away. FYI the glass part of the door was open not closed. Thankfully I was alright and no damage was done to me, but you can’t say the same about the screen. Thank you so much for reading about my screen catastrophe and I hope to see you next time on Charlottes Key to the World!
